Privacy Policy

Last updated: 7 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use Uncle Mini Hiring Pipeline (the "Service") and the unclemini.com and unclemini.app websites. Our approach is to collect as little as possible.

The short version

Uncle Mini Hiring Pipeline runs entirely in your browser. Your hiring data - candidates, job openings, interview notes, hiring-team feedback - stays in a folder you choose on your own device or in your own cloud storage. We do not operate a server that stores your data. We cannot see your data.

The only data we collect about your use of our websites is anonymous traffic via Google Analytics. On most pages you'll see a consent banner on your first visit so you can decline; on a few informational pages, analytics loads directly when you arrive.

1. Who We Are

Uncle Mini is a small business based in Iceland. We are the data controller for any personal data described in this Privacy Policy. For privacy questions, data-rights requests, or any other privacy-related correspondence, contact support@unclemini.com.

If you are in the EU or EEA, you may also lodge a complaint with the Icelandic Data Protection Authority (Persónuvernd) at personuvernd.is, or with the supervisory authority in your country of residence.

2. What Stays on Your Device

The following data is stored only in the folder you select, on your computer or in your own cloud storage account:

We never receive, process, or store this data. If you save the folder inside a cloud service (for example OneDrive, Dropbox, or Google Drive), that service syncs the data according to its own terms and privacy policy.

The following settings are stored only in your browser, never transmitted:

3. Personal Data You Enter About Candidates and Others

Candidate data is among the most sensitive personal data your organisation handles. When you record information about candidates, applicants, referees, or other individuals in the Service, you act as the data controller for that information. Uncle Mini does not see, transmit, store, or process this data on its servers - it stays in the folder you choose.

As the data controller, you are solely responsible for:

If you receive a request from an individual to delete their personal data from your records, you can do so directly inside the application by deleting the relevant records. We have no copy.

4. Website Analytics (with your consent)

Both unclemini.com and unclemini.app use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic patterns. On our main product surfaces - the unclemini.com homepage, the unclemini.app hub, and the four web apps - analytics is loaded only after you click "Accept" on the consent banner shown on your first visit; if you click "Decline", no analytics data is collected from those pages. On secondary informational pages on unclemini.com (the blog, free resource download pages such as the Sales Checklist, and product overview pages), Google Analytics is loaded directly when you visit. In every case, Google Analytics observes only your activity on the public pages of our websites; it never sees anything inside your workspace.

When you accept, Google Analytics may collect:

Google Analytics observes only the publicly visited pages of unclemini.com and unclemini.app. It does not see anything inside your workspace - your hiring data never leaves your folder.

5. License and Update Checks

When you activate a license, the application contacts Gumroad's licensing API to verify your key. This call sends Gumroad your license key and product identifier, and Gumroad returns information about your purchase (including your purchaser email) so the application can record who the license is attributed to. Your purchaser email is then stored locally in your workspace file (hiring-pipeline.json) so teammates opening the shared workspace can see who the license is attributed to.

The application periodically (approximately once per hour while open) requests a small file (version.json) from unclemini.app to check whether a newer version is available. This is a standard HTTP request and may be logged by our hosting provider (Netlify) as part of their normal access logs.

6. What Gumroad Collects for Purchases

Purchases are processed by Gumroad. When you purchase Uncle Mini Hiring Pipeline, Gumroad collects and processes:

Gumroad's handling of this information is governed by their own privacy policy: https://gumroad.com/privacy

We receive limited purchase information from Gumroad - typically your name, email address, and the product you purchased - for the purposes of delivering your license key, providing customer support, and sending update notifications.

7. Email Communications

If you purchase Uncle Mini Hiring Pipeline, we may send you:

We do not share your email address with third parties for marketing purposes.

8. What We Do Not Do

9. Subprocessors

To deliver the Service, we use the following third-party providers (each a "subprocessor"). Each is bound by its own privacy and security obligations. Because your workspace data never reaches us, none of these subprocessors receives or processes that data either.

If we add or change subprocessors materially, we will update this list and notify active customers where reasonably possible.

10. California Privacy Rights (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act) gives you specific rights regarding your personal information, in addition to those described above. These include the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information.

We do not "sell" personal information in the conventional sense and do not "share" personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We collect a minimal set of personal information described above. To exercise any California privacy right, contact support@unclemini.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

11. Your Rights

If you are in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have rights under the GDPR (or the UK GDPR), including:

Since we hold a minimal set of information about you (mainly your purchase record and any support correspondence), most requests can be handled quickly. Contact support@unclemini.com to exercise any of these rights.

If you want to delete your hiring data itself, you can do so at any time by deleting the folder that stores it. We have no copy.

12. Data Retention

Purchase records and support correspondence are retained for as long as necessary to deliver the Service and meet legal and accounting obligations, typically up to 7 years (in line with applicable accounting record-retention requirements). Google Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months and then automatically deleted.

13. Security

Because your hiring data never reaches us, we cannot lose it in a breach. For the data we do hold (purchase records, support emails), we use reasonable security measures including encrypted transit and access controls on the services we use (Gumroad, Zoho, Netlify).

However, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for the security of the folder where your workspace data lives. If that folder is in a cloud service, that service's security measures apply.

14. International Data Transfers

Some of the third parties listed above (in particular Google and Gumroad) are based in or transfer data to the United States. They each provide their own safeguards for international data transfers, which are described in their respective privacy policies.

15. Children

Uncle Mini Hiring Pipeline is a business tool and is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

16. Security and Vulnerability Disclosure

If you discover a security vulnerability in the Service or our websites, please report it responsibly to support@unclemini.com. We will acknowledge receipt within a reasonable period and coordinate disclosure responsibly. We do not currently operate a paid bug-bounty programme. Please do not publicly disclose vulnerabilities before we have had a reasonable opportunity to investigate and remediate.

17. Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, we will change the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify active customers by email where reasonably possible.
